A Review of the Movie Series 'From Scratch'

From Scratch is one of the most interesting and emotional movies i have watched in a long time. The Netlix movie series begins quite interesting highlighting the main actress,Amy's desire to study art in Florence,Italy.It is here that she bumps into Lino and its love at first sight. When Amy acted by Zoe Saldaña falls in love, she does not know that she would lose her husband, lino acted by Eugenio Mastrandrea to a rare form of cancer,and face rejection from his family for being a black American. However, as fate will have it, towards the end of the series the family accepts her even to the extent of traveling to America to be with him in hospital.When Lino finally dies, Amy travels with her adopted daughter to Sicily for the first time to be with her mother- in -law who has since lost her husband. This believable script is well choregraphed and the venue scenes perfectly selected.The actors make the plot seem so real. From Scratch is based on a real life story and that is what makes it such an emotional movie series.Although the plot revolves around the love triangle between Amy and Lino, the movie also brings out humour transporting us to the scenes. Once in a while, one is forced to criticise the actors from the decisions they are making but from the comfort of our seats.

The movie series brings out various themes such as forgiveness, multicultural diversity and culinary art. It showcases the importance of forgiveness indicating its never too late to ask for forgiveness from those we have hurt or who have hurt us. The two families are forced to embrace multicultural diversity as the lovebirds come from different races. Although Amy's family is quick to accept Amy's husband.Lino's father presents a strong opposition even refusing to give permisiion to Lino's mother and sister to attend Lino's wedding.Lastly, the actors bond over food as Lino is a professional chef who passes this art to his adopted daughter. The central life lessons from this movie is that love can endure any type of pain.
